We want to make sure our parents and guardians of Dual Credit students have everything you need to understand tuition costs, payment options, and scholarship opportunities for your student's Thomas More University dual credit coursework. Please read through the information below carefully.

Tuition Costs (2026-27)

How much is dual credit tuition?

$99 per credit hour
$297 for a standard 3-credit course
$394 for a 4-credit hour course

How are bills shared?

Your student will receive their tuition bill via their TMU email address (and their myTMU account), typically about one month before the start of class.
Your students/you will have received an email about logging into our systems, usernames, and passwords.
Lloyd and Dayton High School families: your school will be invoiced directly — no action needed on your part.

Additional costs?

Textbooks and course materials
Some courses include "Inclusive Access" materials, which are billed as a fee added to tuition — visit the orientation's Textbooks page for details
Parking on TMU's campus is free for on-campus students; if your student needs a parking pass please reach out.

Payment Deadlines

Depending on which semester you're taking classes, here is when your tuition is due:

Summer 2026 - May 11, 2026
Fall 2026 - August 17, 2026
Spring 2027 - January 11, 2027

How to View Your student's bill

Navigate to myTMU
Log in at the top of the page with your username/password
Next, click on "Student Services" on the top toolbar
Then, select on "Student Bill" from the menu on the page

How to Pay Your Student's Tuition

Refund Schedule

Should you withdraw from your course during the semester, here's the amount of refund you can expect for your class:

Summer semester:
- During or before the first week – 100% refund
- During the second week – 50% refund
- After the second week – 0% refund
Fall & Spring semesters:
- Before and during the first week – 100% refund
- During the second week – 75% refund
- During the third week – 50% refund
- During the fourth week – 25% refund
- After the fourth week – 0% refund

Unpaid Balances

If your student has an unpaid tuition balance after high school graduation, it can result in holds that prevent them from requesting transcripts or registering for their first year of college — including at Thomas More. Please monitor and pay the tuition balance by the deadlines above.

Scholarships

Students may apply for scholarships through KHEAA with their high school counselor at the beginning of the semester/year. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis based on when the student submits their application. These scholarships only cover the cost of tuition, not course materials.

Students cannot use KEES money for dual credit tuition or course materials.
If you are a homeschool student, you will apply directly through the KHEAA websites linked below.

It is the advice of Thomas More's Dual-Credit program that any student who applies for the KY Dual-Credit Scholarship or Work Ready Scholarship should anticipate and pay their tuition by the start of the semester. Any student who is then awarded the dual-credit scholarship will be refunded once the funds are provided to TMU from KHEAA.

Why do we encourage you to pay your tuition upfront rather than later?

Scholarships aren’t guaranteed – The KHEAA scholarships are first-come, first-served. If you wait and the scholarship doesn’t come through, you’ll still be responsible for paying your tuition. Paying early ensures you’re covered either way.

Textbooks are separate – The KHEAA scholarships don’t cover the cost of textbooks. If your class has “inclusive access” materials, paying tuition upfront helps make sure those are already taken care of.
Keeps your account clear – Paying your tuition on time makes it easier to:
- Register for next semester’s classes (no financial holds), or
- Request transcripts to send to colleges, so you get proper credit for your coursework.
In short: Paying early avoids stress, keeps your options open, and makes sure nothing gets in the way of your college credit.

Potential KHEAA Scholarships

Kentucky Dual-Credit Scholarship
- There is a scholarship available for public, private, and home-schooled students through KHEAA. Students will be eligible to receive a scholarship covering the tuition cost for up to one general education (core) dual-credit course each year during their junior and senior years.
- Award determination will be made by KHEAA and students will be notified by KHEAA. For more information, please contact KHEAALinks to an external site. or talk to your school counselor.

Kentucky Work Ready Scholarship
- Students have the opportunity to utilize KHEAA's Work Ready Scholarship towards some of their dual-credit coursework; however, approved dual-credit courses for the Work Ready Scholarship are limited to Career and Technical Education (CTE) coursework that is in a career pathway approved by the Kentucky Department of Education as leading to an industry‐recognized credential.
- Eligible students can only use the Work Ready Scholarship towards two eligible CTE-related courses each school year.
